The Torngat Mountains National Park - an Inuit Homeland, is one of the last untamed, unspoiled places left on earth. Comprised of 9,700 square kilometers of spectacular wilderness, the Park stretches north from Saglek Fjord to the northern tip of Labrador, and westward from the Atlantic seacoast to the Québec border. It's a land of mountains, polar bears, small glaciers, and caribou, where the Inuit hunt, fish, and travel as their ancestors did.
Air Borealis is currently seeking Fixed-Term Building Cleaners for the Torngat Mountain Project. This position would be located at the Torngat Mountain Base Campfor the approximate duration of July - September, 2024.
What to Expect in the Torngat Mountain National Park:
- Operate in a remote isolated camp in a stunning natural environment for nine weeks.

- Hike unique Inuit ancestral grounds.
- Witness wildlife in their natural habitats.
- Sleep beneath the picturesque northern lights
- Ensure guests have an excellent time by sharing experiences with them such as fishing, iceberg watching, swimming in pristine bodies of water, amongst many other cultural activities!
Job Duties:
- Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.
- Cleaning 15 rooms per day and may vary depending on guest occupancy.
- Full housekeeping services in guest accommodations.
- Making the beds daily and changing linen weekly; or as needed.
- Cleaning of all guest accommodations including all furniture and windows.
- Washing, scrubbing, and sanitizing bathroom, windows, and mirrors.
- Emptying garbage from all areas.
- Washing and folding towels, linens, and beddings.
- Loading and unloading laundry as well as cleaning supplies as necessary.
- Maintaining an accurate record of all bedding allotted in Torngat Base Camp, assist with the inventory, and report any shortages to the Base Camp Manager
Qualifications:
- Able to determine the neatness, accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- One to two years of relevant cleaning experience.
- HNL Hospitality Training - Clean It Right Training.
- WHMIS Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Client service orientation including the ability to consistently interact in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner and respond appropriately to inquiries, and concerns.
- Ability to deal with diverse groups of people.
