DUTIES
The successful applicant will assist in the instruction of students, in the laboratory and/or tutorial portion of the Undergraduate chemistry courses. Duties include preparing laboratories for experiments; ensuring sufficient laboratory equipment and supplies are in stock; assisting students in setting up apparatus and conducting experiments; demonstrating correct procedures for using apparatus and conducting experiments; grading laboratory experiment reports and recording grades; preparing material for tutorials; instructing during tutorials; grading tutorial materials; assisting in the maintenance of laboratory equipment; assisting in examination invigilation; and performing other related duties as required.
Please note sessional employees are employees of the University who as part of normal employment may be temporarily laid off between semesters for periods of up to twenty-two (22) continuous weeks or less.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (up to 1 year) in assisting with the conduct of a chemistry laboratory; graduation from an approved college or University with a B.Sc. in Chemistry; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
SALARY $59,901 - $70,273 (CUPE Local 1615)
