Contributes to the overall success of the Information Security and Control, and Enterprise platforms function in globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. The Senior Manager, Board Support will be responsible for developing high-quality internal and external EVP Board submissions and content, while promoting effective Board communications, operations, and collaboration across global partners. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Day-to-day project management of internal and external Board level materials on behalf of the EVP and CISO, ensuring clarity of instruction, adherence to timelines and connected strategy across multiple platforms.
  • Provide support in the preparation, review, and editing of quarterly Scotiabank Board documents, and other internal/ external level board materials, ensuring high- quality and strategic content is developed. Besides the content for the main Board, the senior manager is also expected to support materials for key subsidiary boards, such as but not limited to Tangerine, the US and Mexico.
  • Provides support to the EVP on external board material and partners with Global Communications on external speaking engagements as required.
  • Incorporate feedback and adjust Board documents based on feedback from Technology leaders, global CISO community, business leads, and strategy, communications, human resources and corporate governance partners.
  • Provide EVP and other Cyber Security, Platform and Cloud leaders with briefing materials, speaking points and ensure effective in meeting communication
  • Ensures awareness and alignment to processes and protocols relating to the enterprise and Technology and Operations board materials development and submissions.
  • Capture and ensure action against any Board-level commitments on behalf of the EVP
  • Work with partners and business executives to form, measure and deliver on the CISO and Enterprise Platforms three year strategy.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience :

  • Extensive experience in strategy, communications, board services or similar
  • Extensive experience in Data & Analytics and storytelling through data with an ability to quickly grasp complex material and translate it into a cohesive narrative
  • Proficiency in Adobe products, PPT, Excel, Microsoft, PowerBI etc.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external multi-disciplinary stakeholders to enable collaborative partnerships.
