ROLE PROFILE:

Under direction of the Air Terminal Infrastructure Manager, the Airport Planner is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Airport Master Plan and carries out planning analysis on the Airport Terminal Building (ATB), the airfield, groundside parking and roads, site development plans, capital plans, master plans, the Land Use Plan, and other aviation-specific technical assignments.

FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • Post-secondary education in aviation management, planning, building technologies, space programming, or equivalent experience.
  • Practical experience and knowledge in airport operations.
  • Ability to manipulate and produce 2D drawings and 3D models and data with software such as Simio, ArcPort, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other modeling software.
  • In-Depth understanding of architectural and engineering design, and construction processes, including Building Information Management.
  • Ability to interpret plans, engineering drawings, maps, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Ability to research, develop, supervise, and administer projects including planning modifications and large-scale projects.
  • Express ideas effectively, to prepare and present written and/or oral reports and recommendations to airport management.
  • Perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in an environment with multiple projects.
  • Understanding of ICAO and IATA standards and recommended practices.
  • Familiar with principles, practices, and techniques of airport planning.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of airport processors with an emphasis on problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic working relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor information and maintain a high standard of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and organize work.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and follow up.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.
