Overview

Uniform Works is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all financial aspects of our fast-paced and growing Company. The ideal candidate will be a skilled financial analyst, who will streamline our budgeting and financial reporting processes. The Controller will also produce thorough financial reports for the Senior Management Team to help improve our operational efficiencies and aid in our continued growth.

Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia with a second location in Edmonton, Alberta

Responsibilities:

· Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budget development, forecasting, and financial reporting.

· Ensure all financial administration systems, policies, directions, and internal controls are developed and documented to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

· Ensure that all month-end financial accounting duties and all financial reporting are completed accurately and on time.

· Provide support and supervision to the accounting team.

· Supervise all accounting support staff including business transactions, processing accruals and adjustments, reconciling accounts and preparation of monthly accounting statements.

· Prepare cash and financial forecasts.

· Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, certain payroll activities, and maintain the general ledger.

· Establish (in coordination with Senior Management) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

· Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.

· Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.

· Build a dynamic team while promoting an environment of trust and productivity.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Post secondary education.

· Professional designation (CPA, CA; CPA, CGA or CPA, CMA) required (or in process of obtaining)

· Minimum two years' experience in a Senior Accounting position.

· Effective communication skills with individuals of all levels in an organization.

· Strong work ethic, demonstrating a high level of commitment, integrity, and attention to detail in financial management and reporting.

· Knowledge of NetSuite is an asset.

· Excellent knowledge of accounting principles

· Excellent team player
