The Torngat Mountain National Park - An Inuit Homeland, one of the last untamed, unspoiled places left on earth. Comprised of 9,700 square kilometers of spectacular wilderness, the Park stretches north from Saglek Fjord to the northern tip of Labrador, and westward from the Atlantic seacoast to the Québec border. It's a land of mountains, polar bears, small glaciers, and caribou, where the Inuit hunt, fish, and travel as their ancestors did.

Air Borealis is currently seeking a Hospitality Coordinator for the Torngat Mountains Project. This position would be located at the Torngat Mountain Base Camp for the approximate duration of July - September, 2024.

What to Expect in the Torngat Mountain National Park:

  • Operate in a remote isolated camp in a stunning natural environment for nine weeks.
  • Make connections and ever-lasting friendships with people from all over the world.
  • Travel an experience different remarkable landmarks that all have a story to tell, by helicopter or zodiac boat.
  • Hike unique Inuit ancestral grounds.
  • Witness wildlife in their natural habitats.
  • Sleep beneath the picturesque northern lights.
  • Ensure guests have an excellent time by sharing experiences with them such as fishing, iceberg watching, swimming in pristine bodies of water, amongst many other cultural activities!

Job Duties:

  • Monitor guest satisfaction through surveys and feedback and make necessary improvements.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with guests.
  • Communicate with guests regarding weather delays for programming and travel to and from the Torngat Base Camp.
  • Greet each guest upon arrival and show guests to their accommodations.
  • Work with Logistics Manager to ensure accurate accommodation capacity based on the movement and requests of guests.
  • Resolve any issues or complaints from guests with Base Camp Manager.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective coordination of logistics to ensure guest activities and outdoor excursions run smoothly.
  • Work with other team members to ensure an overall positive guest experience.
  • Be the point of contact for the Torngat Base Camp Gift Shop.
  • Keep regular inventory of items at Torngat Base Camp Gift Shop and communicate to Logistics Manager as necessary.
  • Completion of Daily Sales Reports (DSR's) reflecting transactions at the Torngat Base Camp Gift Shop to prepare for submission to Logistics Manager.
  • Preparation and distribution of Guest Welcome Bags.
  • Attend daily excursions with guests.
  • Assist various artisans and musicians in any evening guest programming and activities.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively motivate colleagues to provide exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • 3+ years' experience in the adventure tourism industry.
  • 3+ years' experience working in remote locations.
  • A drive for excellence in the guest experience.
  • Well versed in Inuit Culture and cultural connections to the Torngat Mountains.
