The Vice President of Marketing, Full-service Banners and Liquor, will be accountable for leading marketing for Sobeys, Safeway, Sobeys liquor, Safeway liquor and Strategic priorities. This individual is a seasoned marketer, with strong strategic and team leadership skills, who will collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to transform business goals and consumer insights into differentiated banner marketing strategies. The Vice President of Marketing will work collaboratively with internal marketing Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to bring the strategies to life and create a deeper connection between the brands and their target consumers.

The Vice President of Marketing will provide marketing vision, strategic thought-leadership and day-to-day marketing leadership to their organization. This individual will develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing plan that creates differentiation, emotional connection with customers and drives banner growth.

Here's where you'll be focusing:

Lead and oversee all banner-specific marketing activities tailored for Sobeys, Safeway banners strategically focused on sustaining market share growth in Canada
• Oversees the annual marketing planning process. Build and develop a best-in-class marketing strategy and planning team to partner effectively with a growth-focused and fast-paced business.

• Establish short and long-term marketing strategies that build and support the brand promise and align closely with operational and financial business needs.
• Work with peers and stakeholders in an integrated and collaborative way to extract consumer insights and turn them into commercially viable strategic plans and initiatives. Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of new marketing initiatives and campaigns, keeping an eye on the most relevant issues through well-grounded consumer insights and verifiable analytics.

• Drive the evolution and positioning of banners to enhance market share and build EBIDTA and consumer loyalty while driving further collaboration with Merchandising and Operations functions.
• Build and foster strong relationships with key merchants, identifying opportunities for revenue growth and ensuring effective collaboration. Drive strong collaboration with Merchandising and Operations Team.

• Leads marketing and support integration across marketing COE teams, including Marketing Communications, Loyalty, Marketing Technology and Digital Customer Experience, Consumer Research, Community Investments, Sponsorships and In-Store Marketing for creating an annual marketing strategy calendar that drives transactions and basket sales across the banner.

• Bring an innovative mindset and apply a 360-degree marketing approach to drive and launch impactful product/service offerings.

What you have to offer:

Educational Background - Bachelors degree (Business, Commerce, or other related discipline) or MBA
• Marketing Leadership Experience - 15+ years of progressive experience across the different disciplines of the marketing function and a proven passion & ability to lead the strategic planning process and build ready-to-execute marketing strategies.
• Industry Experience - Experience working for a large retailer or a complex consumer organization. Experience managing multi-banner portfolios would be preferred.
• People Leadership Experience - Experience in managing teams in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
• Strategic Business Leadership - A strong commercial orientation and excellent business acumen to manage multi-stakeholders. Think and act as a strategic business expert at the enterprise level, working in close collaboration with merchandising and operations.
• Team Leadership - Prior experience supporting and collaborating with multi-disciplinary marketing teams with a strong desire and high skill in the development of people in an accountable environment.
