Are you a skilled salesperson with a knack for building business relationships and a passion for positioning Halifax as the best place for businesses to thrive?

The Business Attraction Account Executive is a key sales role for the organization. The position will proactively and strategically sell the Halifax value proposition as part of the overall business case to national and international companies that could benefit from having a Halifax location.

Responsabilités

Sales and Lead Generation

  • Work collaboratively with the team and rely on competitive intelligence gathering to develop targeted plans and tactics to proactively generate leads and accelerate the conversion of leads to new investments that could take advantage of the Halifax business case and value proposition.
  • Regularly participate in key sector events and activities that will help raise Halifax's profile nationally and globally.
  • Constantly update our knowledge of Halifax's key sectors, stakeholders, and value proposition.
  • Working within a focused framework of accountability, play a key role on the team reaching shared sales targets, i.e., number of new companies choosing Halifax as a location.
  • Working with the team, identify and support the growth of existing regional offices.

Networking and Relationship Development

  • Build and sustain credible, long-term relationships with key decision makers and influencers, industry associations, sector groups, public sector organizations, service providers and other stakeholders to enhance lead generation and superior client servicing.
  • Establishing trusting and collaborative working relationships with partner organizations such as Invest in Canada, Invest Nova Scotia, incubators, industry associations and others will be important. Joint "team Nova Scotia" approach to files will be critical to our collective collaboration.
  • Establishing trusting working relationships with key decision makers will be key.
  • A systematic approach to follow-up and delivery of timely information is a critical approach to client care.

Client Relations and Services

In collaboration with the Research and Marketing and Communication teams, prepare and assemble customized investor response packages and targeted responses to specific projects and client requests. This may include referrals to industry and government contacts, arranging meetings with key industry executives, providing information on real estate, or providing market intelligence to potential investors.

  • Manage and report on client files within Salesforce, the organization's Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Leverage research generated by the Research Team to develop recommendations and value propositions for clients.
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, collaboration, regionalism, and client-centricity.
  • Maintain a high-level of confidentiality.
  • In collaboration with the broader team ensure an effective aftercare program is developed and implemented.
Qualifications

Education

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Minimum five years' professional experience in business, relationship development and sales.
  • Economic development experience is an asset.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong negotiation and a proven track record of closing a sale will be important.
  • Ability to leverage relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients and partners across multiple organizations and community groups.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry sectors in Halifax.
  • Knowledge of the post-secondary institutions and their general strengths.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to pivot quickly.
  • Excellent database management skills, experience with Salesforce an asset.
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team to meet organizational objectives.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work for self is a must.
  • Excellent follow-up skills.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Ability to travel when required.
  • Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events when required.
