Harbour Health Partners is a multi-physician primary care medical practice located in Millidgeville, in Saint John, New Brunswick. We have been a group practice since 2013, and currently have five practicing partners.

Position Description:

We are looking for a reliable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with immunization competency to work in a fast-paced private clinic environment, and who has a dedication to providing a high level of care and attention to people, be it patients, providers, or coworkers. To remain mindful of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. All providers must adhere to their college or associations requirements to remain active, and compliant to all standards and code of ethics. To perform all duties therein to the standard set forth by that governing body, in addition to following the act set forth by the Government of New Brunswick for their discipline. Proof of license/current registration, and continuing education courses taken to be supplied annually to management. Due to our exposure to vulnerable populations, it is required that staff be compliant with Public Health recommendations (e.g., immunizations).

Remuneration, Hours, Benefits, Environment:

  • Pay Type and Renumeration: Hourly, paid bi-weekly
  • Hours/Days per week: Part time at 16-24 hours per week performed between 0800 and 1700, Wednesday to Friday (plus extra during vacation coverage)
  • Benefits: We offer an expanded time off policy, extended health benefits, LTD, and exposure to professional development courses
  • Vacation, and Sick time are accrued based on hours worked. Vacation, Sick and Holiday Pay are as per Employment Standards New Brunswick
  • Wage is commensurate with experience
  • Fast paced, with standing, walking, and sitting throughout, limited lifting
  • 6-month probation
  • Employment to begin in June

Experience, Education and Skill Requirements:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse -LPN with immunization competency
  • Phlebotomy
  • Electronic Medical Record Systems (EMR) experience, Profile being an asset
  • Basic proficiency of Windows, and general computer and office equipment knowledge

Daily Job Description and Duties:

  • Perform Immunizations as per New-Brunswick's Immunization Program Guide (NBIPG) and the Canadian Immunization Guide (CIG)
  • Phlebotomy
  • Injections
  • Testing urines (preg test, urinalysis)
  • Ensuring requisitions and forms are labeled and completed, and that you are up to date with current requirements for completion
  • Measures and Blood Pressure
  • Chaperoning physicians with exams as required
  • Assisting in exams for procedures or wound care
  • Telephone contact with patients under physician direction
  • Following all EMR workflows that interact between the LPN role and others
  • Maintaining and reviewing "tasks" daily and completing them in a timely manner
  • Billing of independent visits not billed through our inventory system
  • Assisting Clinical Assistant (CA) to keep Nursing office, Clinical Assistant area and exam rooms stocked, neat and tidy
  • Assisting in training medical learners as appropriate
  • Clear and timely communication with both physicians and staff
  • Vacation coverage for other roles as it applied
  • Review and follow all regulated aspects of the role to ensure skills and knowledge are up to date and performed to the expectation of the governing body of your discipline or duty
