Aker Solutions is actively seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our People and Organization team in the St. John's office.

What will you be doing?
  • Works closely with P&O team across all HR functions including employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, workforce planning, compensation, HR metrics/reporting, employee engagement, change management, diversity, equity and inclusion program, immigration, special project requirements, career development and succession planning.
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Manager - P&O, liaise with client groups to resolve employee relations issues, including consistent interpretation and application of legislation, policies, programs, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Strong consulting, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills to provide general HR advice to people leaders and departmental managers.
  • Champion and support alignment of local area requirements with Aker Solutions' governing policies and procedures.
  • Participates and supports implementing organizational change initiatives and participates in cross-functional teams and projects as required.
  • Mentor and share experiences with the P&O team members.
  • Support HRIS systems upgrades, modules testing, training, and implementations.
We think you should have:
  • Human Resources Business Management diploma or Bachelor of Business Administration, or Bachelor of Commerce concentration of Human Resources, and or/an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience,
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum fifteen years' experience in a Human Resources professional role.
  • Strong knowledge of theory, practices and strategy related to Human Resources functions such as performance management, talent acquisition, employee relations, workforce planning, effective employee communications and change management.
  • Solid knowledge of the relevant policies, labour law, employment standards and other regulatory requirements within the local market.
  • HR Professional with a known track record of the highest level of ethical practice and confidentiality.
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to develop a deep understanding of business functions, influence company strategies, and teams' objectives.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively deliver HR expertise and services to all clients. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and deliver to people at different levels of the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate and create effective, trusting relationships with peers, and individuals internally and externally.
  • The capability to research, analyze, and make logical decisions within a given timeframe.
