Salary Range: $2,058.00 to $2,900.00 bi-weekly (successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $3,167 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education)
What you will be working on:
As part of the School of Professional and Part-time Learning, collaborating with and reporting to the Business Development Manager, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders, as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include, but are not limited to:
- Communications
- Marketing
- Applied Writing
- Business Math
- MS Office
- Economics
- Accounting
- Workplace Essential Skills
The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices. You will also plan, evaluate and monitor student practicum placements.
Education & Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in a related discipline, with a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related experience.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
Professional Skills:
- Knowledge of employability skills, essential skills, and workplace-based training.
- Experience in dealing with unemployed/underemployed individuals.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and written & oral communication skills.
- Group and individualized facilitation skills.
- Demonstrate ability to coordinate team-based activity.
- Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Ability to analyze needs, solve problems and make recommendations.
- Have the ability to act decisively and to exercise initiative and have strong judgement on a wide range of issues.
- Have critical thinking and problems solving skills, and, above all, be creative, independent, and flexible.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in post-secondary education.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
