ACADEMIC PROGRAM ASSISTANT (BAND LEVEL 4)
Discipline of Anesthesia
Faculty of Medicine
(Full-time, Three-Year Contractual Position)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Discipline Chair, Undergraduate Coordinator, and the Manager of Operations, the successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Undergraduate Coordinator, faculty, and staff within the discipline. The successful applicant will support the core clerkship and all medical learner elective requests for the discipline including residency program elective requests. Specifically, the duties will include assisting with the scheduling and evaluation processes; arranging orientation sessions; answering regular inquiries from medical learners that rotate through the Anesthesia core rotations and elective rotations; supporting the clerkship committee in preparing agendas and meeting minutes; liaising with various offices in the Faculty of Medicine and Regional Health Boards; attending related academic meetings; entering resident portions of weekly rosters and call schedules; and assisting with CaRMS. This position will also support the fellowship director and assist with fellowship applications, paperwork, and related matters as well as providing support to the research director by scheduling research meetings with residents and medical learners; coordinating all aspects of resident research day; addressing any research related inquiries from faculty and staff; as well as performing other duties as required by the research director, fellowship director, and the discipline.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (1-3 years) in academic program activities in a university environment; supplemented by a diploma in office or business administration; or any combination of experience and training. Demonstrated analytical skills, experience in a fast-paced environment; minute taking as well as experience with, and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs are required. Experience in administration of academic programs, familiarity with OSCE examinations, knowledge of One45, and MUNCAT software are considered assets.

SALARY $49,308 - $57,841 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
