ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of the position is to assist with the development and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Home Without Walls (NHWW) program at York Care Centre (YCC). The Manager will be responsible for initiating and supporting the development and execution of the NHWW program for older adults (60+) in the community, ensuring that clients have access to appropriate services and information related to aging in place, and develop programs that address social isolation and loneliness for clients and their caregiver. The Manger will develop focus groups with stakeholders, establish partnerships, collaborate with community stakeholders, and advocate for evidence informed best practices for aging in place.

ABOUT YOU

You are an individual with a passion for providing services to seniors, demonstrating respect and empathy for clients. You consider yourself flexible in coping with changing needs and can provide sound leadership. You have obtained a University or College education in health and well-being studies related to the position. Experience in gerontology or project management is an asset. You hold a current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation. You are knowledgeable of aging, age-friendly communities and resources and can initiate, design, and implement programs and services.

Your skill set includes the ability to multi-task, self-motivation, computer skills, strong communication skills (written and verbal), and the capability to create and present information to groups. You have the skills to oversee the development and adaptation of all NHWW policies and procedures, have a thorough understanding of performance measurements and evaluations and the ability to develop reports. Lastly, you have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
