ACCOUNTANT - FULL TIME
Tell Tale Productions is an award-winning Halifax-based TV and digital media producer. This 20-year-old company produces TV shows primarily for Canadian and American broadcasters but has expanded into international markets. This full-time position is located in the North End of Halifax.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and thrive in a busy and dynamic work environment. As the Accountant, you will be a key member of our team. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the daily preparation of timely and accurate financial transactions using various systems and tools. You will also assist with month end financial close activities. Experience in film and TV production accounting is not required but would be considered a bonus. The ability to juggle the demands of multiple companies is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting for multiple productions
- Co-ordination of weekly receivables and payables
- Daily bank transactions
- Monthly/Quarterly HST filing for multiple companies
- Monthly review and reconciliation of bank statements
- Assist in preparation of annual financial statements for various productions
- Strong computer skills and experience using accounting software preferably Quick Books / Excel
Qualifications:
- Degree majoring in accounting/business plus 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Fluency in spreadsheet applications (advanced user preferred)
- Ability to complete detailed reconciliations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to follow established policies & procedures with a strong attention to detail
- Flexible with a commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Experience with film & TV accounting an asset but not mandatory
- Desire to work in a positive and dynamic team environment
