The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor, Administrative Professional. This is a Term employment opportunity from June 2024 to June 2025, with the possibility of extension, or becoming regular, located at NBCC's Miramichi campus.

Responsabilités

As part of the Wesley Armour School of Business, Hospitality & Tourism and reporting to the Academic Chair, Administrative Professional, the Instructor, Administrative Professional, is responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include but are not limited to:

  • Essential Office Skills
  • Administrative Computer Applications
  • Document Formatting
  • Administrative Math
  • Writing Fundamentals
  • Accounting Essentials

The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices and be flexible in adapting to new technologies as well as instructing in a variety of subject areas. You may be involved in the planning, evaluation and monitoring of student practicum placements.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Certificate in an Administrative Professional program. Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of five (5) recent and related years of work experience.

  • OR a Degree in Education/Arts or a relevant field with related years of work experience. Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of five (3) recent and related years of work experience.

  • Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking.
  • Self-motivated, service and results oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • A desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

  • A competitive salary range of $2,058.00 to $2,900.00 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $3,167.00 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education.

This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NBUPPE - Education (Instructional) collective agreement for the College.
