Rate: $33.32 per hour (after 480 hours worked)
$32.97 per hour (during probationary period)

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3rd Class Stationary Engineering License Required.
• Team player with strong technical, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills - Required.
• Must be willing to work overtime as requested by the Chief.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must have experience as the primary Shift Operator as well as worked as a dayshift Maintenance Engineer.
• Knowledge of and experience with Automated Controls and PLC equipment and computer assisted equipment.
• Intermediate knowledge of mechanical and electrical trades.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must maintain open communications and teamwork with plant personnel while achieving critical maintenance objectives.
• Conscientious towards the needs of the Production Group with frequent communication with your customer.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Accustom to performing all aspects of maintenance in a power house setting.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Boiler room maintenance and shift coverage as needed with the use of Automated Controls and PLC equipment and computer assisted equipment.
• Ensures compliance with established standards and Legislation.
• The ability to work or fill-in for continuous shift operations without lateness or absenteeism is important.
• Able to design and make changes to existing Plant Systems.
• Able to maintain troubleshoot and perform repairs to auxiliary equipment.
• Must be willing to be on-call - Ability to perform unscheduled and emergency repairs as required.
• HVAC experience would be considered an asset.
• Ozone Depleting Substances permit would be considered an asset.
