Meridia Recruitment is pleased to partner with RVA in recruiting a dynamic and proficient Senior Project Manager to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This role holds the potential for further leadership opportunities at both the provincial and regional levels within an employee-owned company.

Role Description

As a Senior Project Manager, you will work alongside the Vice-President, Halifax, to expand business and operations across the Atlantic regions, contributing to the growth of RVA. You'll provide technical expertise, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure the seamless execution of municipal and infrastructure renewal projects, taking responsibility for project scope, schedule, and budget management. You will oversee engineering and contract administration for municipal projects, including site development, road infrastructure, water and sewer systems, along with preparing and coordinating various documents, reports, and design drawings. You’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining client relationships, ensuring quality assurance, and contributing to the continual success of the company.

Duties:

  • Spearhead the expansion of business and operations in vibrant areas like Halifax, New Brunswick, and the broader Atlantic regions by collaborating closely with the Vice-President
  • Lead company-wide initiatives to elevate RVA's profile across Eastern Canada, to create a widespread impact and visibility.
  • Manage Municipal Engineering projects from start to finish, including meticulous oversight of project scope, schedule, budget, and nurturing strong client relationships.
  • Take the lead in preparing and coordinating essential project documents, approvals, tender documents, cost estimates, and contract documents, ensuring thoroughness and compliance.
  • Play a pivotal role in conceptual design and quality assurance reviews, influencing the success of road reconstruction, infrastructure renewal projects, stormwater systems, culverts, watermains, and more.
  • Collaborate closely with Civil Engineers and diverse project teams, fostering an integrated approach that maximizes collective expertise and creativity.
  • Embrace a dynamic role involving diverse administrative tasks such as financial management, staff development, and mentoring opportunities, nurturing the growth of the team.
  • Utilize your expertise in AutoCAD and Civil 3D design to create and refine intricate design drawings as required, contributing directly to the success of project execution.

Your Qualifications

As a seasoned Civil Engineer, you hold a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. You are a licensed P.Eng. with an impressive track record in progressively advancing roles within municipal engineering and consulting. You are proficient in steering projects from inception to completion, demonstrating a consistent ability to meet timelines and budgets. You are known for excelling in collaborative team environments, and adeptly navigating diverse levels of staff and clientele. You demonstrate superior written and oral communication skills, evidenced through the creation of comprehensive reports, technical documents, and impactful client communications.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ Municipal/Civil Engineer Consulting or equivalent experience.
  • On path for registration or currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Nova Scotia. Project management (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proven project management and technical skills.
  • Experience with software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D is considered an asset.
  • Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
