Reporting to the VP, Global Technology Product Services, the Senior Director, Finance Portfolio Product Services will play a pivotal role in leading technology finance transformations and strategic initiatives including the S4HANA transformation.

The position requires a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in financial planning, analysis and business partnering, coupled with a thorough understanding of technology operations with functional Finance experience in S4HANA and SAP Cloud products.

The finance technologist will collaborate closely with C-suite executives to lead technology transformations and execute financial strategies that optimize performance, drive growth, and enhance stakeholder value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finance Transformation: Lead the design and implementation of finance transformation initiatives within the technology division, including process improvements, system enhancements, and operational process improvements.
  • Strategic Planning: Partner with C-suite executives and technology leadership to develop and execute finance technology strategies to align with industry best practices and align with corporate strategy.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide insights into key performance metrics and drivers of financial performance,
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the finance technology portfolio including project budgeting, resource allocations and cost management. Evaluate and track ROI on finance transformation projects.
  • Business Partnering: Serve as a trusted advisor to technology leaders, providing financial guidance and support to drive informed decision-making. Ensure Cross-functional collaboration with other departments such as commercial, manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Risk management: Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities within the technology portfolio. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure adherence to the cyber security policy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Performance reporting: Present regular reporting to finance leadership highlighting key market trends and potential areas of improvements.
  • Talent Development: Build and develop a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance capability of the team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Business stakeholders for our Global functions, ensuring alignment between Corporate and Regional priorities while considering financial implications and leveraging SAP S/4HANA capabilities.
  • Ensure that regional and country-specific needs are addressed within the global framework, balancing financial considerations, and leveraging technology to inform business demand and solution architecture.
  • Develop the strategy and vision for the use of technology and data including SAP S4 HANA to drive and support the business strategy while maintaining financial accountability and optimizing return on investment.
  • Sign off on project blueprints before handing over to the build team, ensuring alignment with financial goals and strategic objectives.
  • Provide oversight, leadership, and alignment to overall timelines, budgets, milestones, and deliverables, with a focus on financial efficiency and effectiveness in SAP S/4HANA implementation.
  • Track utilization of products and create heat maps of functions used, leveraging insights to inform financial decisions and drive value realization.
  • Ensure business cases are developed and stakeholders are held accountable for financial value realization, driving efficiency and cost savings.
  • Create a strategy and roadmap for the Record to Report (RtR) process area and relevant business functions, balancing financial considerations with strategic priorities.
  • Manage completion of key test preparation and execution activities, ensuring rigorous testing to validate financial integrity.
  • Lead sub-process teams for respective process areas, optimizing implementation efforts while maintaining financial discipline.
  • Monitor quality of deliverables/key project risks, implementing financial mitigation strategies as needed to ensure successful implementation.
  • Participate in weekly Global Team Leads meetings, providing insights and updates on implementation progress and financial integration efforts.
  • Forecast and manage spend of budget pool for the Finance Technology Portfolio team, prioritizing investments while ensuring transparency, financial accountability, and efficiency.
  • Contribute to budget tracking exercises and periodic submissions to Finance group, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial management processes.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of diverse experience in finance and accounting roles, with a particular emphasis on SAP S/4HANA implementation and optimization, demonstrating a deep understanding of its functionalities and implications for finance processes.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with Information Technology groups, contributing to cross-functional teams to drive successful SAP S/4HANA and finance transformation projects.
  • Extensive experience working on Global large-scale projects, demonstrating the ability to navigate complexities and deliver results within specified timelines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance principles and best practices, coupled with a proficiency in utilizing finance tools and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to instil complex technical and financial information into clear and actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project and change management capabilities, adept at managing multiple projects with conflicting priorities and delivering excellence under pressure.
  • Expertise in SAP and FP&A systems, including OneStream and SAP Analytics Cloud, with a proven ability to leverage technical functionalities to streamline finance operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint, utilizing these tools to analyse data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Independent and tactical approach to problem-solving, coupled with a collaborative mindset conducive to building professional relationships and working effectively in team environments.
  • Strong understanding of technology operations, including software development lifecycle, cloud services, and IT infrastructure
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic and ambiguous situations, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in the face of change.
  • Experience in risk management on a global scale, with a focus on identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated data analytics capabilities, showcasing the ability to derive insights, propose alternative solutions, and make recommendations to drive business outcomes.
