SALARY RANGE: $130,173.00 - $181,130.00 CAD
BENEFITS: Benefits Package Applicable (Medical/Dental Benefits, Travel Insurance), Foreign Service Premium (applicable when employee is travelling outside of Home Country)
LOCATION: Offshore Newfoundland, Canada
TYPE OF RIG: DP3 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible, Hercules
ROTATION: 28/28 while in NL
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract, Full Time
CONTRACT: Short Term Contract; Estimate Seven (7) Months
NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Four (4)

JOB SUMMARY: Conduct the drilling and well operation in a safe manner according to plans and procedures, including supervision of the drill crew.

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Drilling Technical Courses or Equivalent
  • 6+ Months' experience as Driller on 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater AKMH Drawwork Semi-Submersible
  • 2+ year's as Assistant Driller on 6th Generation Deepwater Semi- Submersible with AKMH pipe handling equipment.
  • 4+ years previous experience in a role with 6th Generation Deepwater Semi-Submersible
  • 3+ years previous experience with AKER and MHWirth equipment
  • HPHT Experience
  • Structured and organized mindset
  • High level of integrity
  • Analytical ability
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership:

  • Lead the drill crew in accordance with Odfjell' s vision and values.
  • Know all members of your crew.
  • Ensure that all are familiar with the operational plans and own tasks.
  • Take necessary action against unacceptable behaviour.
  • Assign tasks to the drill crew.

Competence:

  • Perform/ensure on the job training.
  • Be in accordance with competence requirements at all times.
  • Know status on your crew members vs. competence assurance system.
  • Ensure acceptable level of crew competence and act when insufficient.
  • Decide correct tempo on the operation based on crew competence.

Operations:

  • Execute all drilling and well operations according to written instructions/ plans from Odfjell' s line management.
  • Owner of the well integrity at all times.
  • Ensure that the drilling equipment is operated in a proper manner within its capacity limits and at the correct tempo.
  • Ensure good communication between all involved in the ongoing operation.
  • Not leave the drill floor unless qualified relief is present and ensure that the drillers cabin is manned at all times when connected to a well.
  • Keep the drill floor tidy and clean.
  • Conduct flow checks and/or shut in well.
  • Request assistance from superior personnel.
  • Refuse to operate if instructions/plans are insufficient or substandard to Odfjell' s requirements.
  • Emergency duties according to the unit's emergency organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
