Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents in long-term care facilities.
  • Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist with activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Assess and document residents' health status, progress, and any changes in condition.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, promoting their overall well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues, fostering positive relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Nova Scotia.
  • Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
  • Current Standard First Aid or CPR Certificate
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Experience working in long-term care, or a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Clear and satisfactory Police Record and Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months - required.
  • Proof of Covid 19 vaccination - required.
