Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to residents in long-term care facilities.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist with activities of daily living.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
- Assess and document residents' health status, progress, and any changes in condition.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, promoting their overall well-being.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues, fostering positive relationships.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Nova Scotia.
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
- Current Standard First Aid or CPR Certificate
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Experience working in long-term care, or a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Clear and satisfactory Police Record and Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months - required.
- Proof of Covid 19 vaccination - required.
