Salary Range: $56,898 - $73,965 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Canadian Research Chair - Healthy Aging, the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Data Analyst supports researchers in compiling, manipulating, and analyzing geospatial data. This position also designs, develops, and maintains GIS databases. GIS Data Analysts create reports, maps, and data visualization products and contribute to writing final research reports.
- Design and develop new GIS databases from publicly available databases or large provincial administrative databases.
- Clean, manage, and analyze large GIS databases.
- Identify and advise on data limitations and collaborate with researchers and NB-IRDT staff on solutions to overcome those limitations.
- Assist researchers in developing study protocols, data measures, data creation plans, and analytic plans.
- Prepare analytic data sets. Conduct and interpret GIS data analyses using population-based administrative, clinical registry, and survey data.
- Contribute to writing research reports and scientific manuscripts for academic publication.
- Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of new research initiatives.
- Provide research support to users in the NB-IRDT lab.
- Complete data stewardship functions, including data validation to ensure its accuracy.
- Create and update reference guides for data sets.
- Output, interpret, and communicate GIS data analysis results with the project team and external stakeholders.
- Follow all project management processes as required.
- Collaborate with the privacy officer and institute staff to ensure continued compliance to protect the integrity and confidentiality of the data.
- Perform other duties as directed.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A Master's degree in Geomatics, Epidemiology, Economics, Health Sciences, Biostatistics, or a related field
- Advanced training in Geographic Information Systems.
- 3 - 5 years' experience in manipulating and analyzing GIS data sets.
- A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
