Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with Inflector Environmental Services, one of Canada's leading abatement and demolition contractors, to recruit a General Superintendent to join their team in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Role Description:

Reporting to the Area Manager, the General Superintendent will support Inflector's operations team with a variety of project functions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning and project execution, working directly with the Operations Manager to assist with site management duties, field-level safety, scheduling of labour, planning of equipment and resources, and communicating with clients and office personnel.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive the project schedule in conjunction with the project team, ensuring that completion dates and project milestones are met;
  • Create and monitor weekly 'look ahead' schedules for various projects;
  • Partner with the operations team to maintain safety and recordkeeping requirements as per provincial regulations and Inflector's Health & Safety Program;
  • Partner with the operations team and site supervisors to assess and implement risk assessments on various project sites;
  • Effectively communicate with the project team and subtrades to ensure performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met;
  • Advise the Project Manager on potential problems, scheduling difficulties, etc;
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, subtrades, consultants and clients regarding site issues;
  • Enforce disciplinary actions as needed;
  • Review and understand contract and subcontract documents;
  • Assist with managing site inventory;
  • Manage site administration such as waste removals, bin drops, and material delivery.

Your Qualifications:

As the ideal candidate, you are an energetic self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You take great pride in the quality of your work and have a proven record of completing complex projects through clear communication of priorities on-site, and the ability to foster an environment that deeply values teamwork.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Field Supervisor or Lead Hand/Foreman role;
  • Demonstrated success supervising a working crew;
  • Experience in the Hazardous Materials Field would be considered an asset;
  • Understanding of project schedules and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Knowledge of provincial safety regulations;
  • Ability to lead and run effective site meetings with various personnel (internal field crew, subtrades, consultants, etc.);
  • Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgement;
  • Excellent organization and time management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Enthusiastic team player with a 'can do' attitude.
