Clinical Occupational Therapist II
Temporary Full-Time
Approximately 9 months
Location: Labrador City, NL
56210RP1

Labrador-Grenfell Health is responsible for a full range of services including community health, long-term care and acute care for Northern Newfoundland and all of Labrador. Labrador-Grenfell Health operates accredited facilities including three hospitals, in St. Anthony, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, and Labrador City, three community health centers, 14 community clinics/nursing stations and three long term care homes.

The primary purpose of this position is to develop, implement and evaluate occupational therapy services in the areas of acute care, community care, long term care, injury prevention and health promotion with the dual responsibility of providing services to clients served by the Labrador West Health Centre in Labrador City and the Labrador Health Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, using a combination of in-person and virtual telehealth service options.

Qualifications:
" Graduation from an approved School of Occupational Therapy recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Therapy Board;
" Registration with Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Therapy Board and eligible for membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists;
" Experience in the area of general Occupational Therapy would be an asset;
" Access to a vehicle for work purposes;
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory code of conduct.

Duties (Include but not limited to):
" Plans, develops, implements and evaluates the occupational therapy program for inpatients, outpatients and community-based services;
" Assesses plans and provides treatment to referred clients;
" Counsels and instructs clients and their care givers regarding individualized programs and goals;
" Supervises the Clinical Occupational Therapist I;
" Maintains written clinical records; compiles patient reports; and maintains daily & monthly statistics;
" Travel within the region is required;
" Performs other related duties as required.

Salary:
" CG 43 of the NAPE HP Salary Scales, $41.85 to $49.36 per hour. Plus the applicable Labrador Allowance

Hours of Work:
" Hours of work will follow the flexible work schedule in accordance with Article 19.01(a) of the NAPE-HP Collective Agreement, based on 75 hours bi-weekly (by mutual agreement). Variable shifts may apply.
