Hours 75 bi-weekly (8 and 12-hour shift work; days, nights, evenings, weekends; rotating) Salary CG-37 ($35.42 - $39.58 per hour) The following Sign on Incentives may be applicable and can be combined:
1. Signing bonus up to $10,000
2. Come Home incentive up to $50,000

Job Summary
The Advanced Care Paramedic performs independent advanced medical care and intervention to patients at pre-hospital scene settings. This includes operating ambulances in responding to emergencies and routine calls; conducting physical examinations; performing comprehensive assessments and tests; interpreting a variety of tests and procedures; initiating a variety of advanced interventions; and performing other related duties as required. Work is performed with considerable independence and is reviewed through observation, examination of records and reports and the presence or absence of valid complaints. Advanced Care Paramedics report directly to the Operations Supervisors.

Job Demands
By applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):
Regularly moves, lifts, or carries patients or equipment ranging from 10 to 50 pounds and occasionally in excess of 100 lbs. in challenging environments and which is not always conducive to proper ergonomics. Position is rated heavy to very heavy.
Constantly bending, stretching, kneeling or pushing/pulling of stretchers (which require up to 35 lbs. of push/pull force or greater per employee as the terrain and weather conditions; sometimes in small and cramped spaces.
Visual concentration or alertness is required and there is frequent time pressures in the pre-hospital emergency setting.
Lack of control over work pace occurs due to unpredictable situations and/or call volume.

Job Qualifications
Completion of an Accredited Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) Program from Canadian Medical Association is required.
Current registration with the Provincial Medical Oversight Program as an ACP at the time of commencing employment.
Possession of a valid Class 4 Driver's License as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Experience as an ACP is required. A minimum two years is preferred.
Pre-employment Physical Capabilities test and medical is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
