Salary range: $88,554.895 to $104,182.229 annually

This is a designated competition open to the following groups:

  • Aboriginal/Indigenous people;

  • Persons of a minority sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression.

This position may be eligible for hybrid or remote work after demonstrating successful progression in proficiency in the position.

Responsabilités

Reporting to the Director, Academic Equity and Quality the Educational Equity Consultant will:

  • Provide leadership to Academic to support the development, delivery, analysis and continuous improvement of programs, policy, processes and systems with a goal of achieving educational equity for all students.
  • Work in close collaboration with Academic Schools, Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion, the Office of Registrar and Enrolment, the Centre for Teaching and Learning, the Consultant functions at both strategic and operational level and provide expert advice and guidance to Academic in Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) practice, leadership and systems change as it relates to educational equity.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. education, social sciences, public policy, public governance/administration, human rights and equity services, EDI/DEI, leadership, organizational change). A Master's degree in a relevant discipline (as above) is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Certificate or recognized training/experience in Conflict Resolution, Human Rights, Diversity & Inclusion, Project Management, or other relevant subject matter would be considered assets.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in applying educational equity principles and practices in a post-secondary setting.
  • You have occupational experience conducting, analyzing, and disseminating research in education.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, E-mail.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience.
  • You have experience project managing successful strategic initiatives and change strategies across an organization.

  • You bring relevant lived experience combined with a broad perspective lens on numerous aspects of inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility and anti-racism.
  • You have experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of educational equity policies, programs and initiatives within a large public or private sector organization.
  • You are able to bring an equity lens to academic policies and processes to support educational equity for all students.
  • You have a demonstrated sense of self, identity and social location, and a keen awareness of positionality, power and privilege.
  • You are able to collect, synthesize, and analyze information from across a broad spectrum of sources to provide timely advice.
  • You possess strong analytical, strategic, and innovative thinking skills.
  • You have proven records and information management skills and abilities and are able to manage research data according to appropriate ethical and legislative guidelines.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to interact at all levels of an organization.
  • You are known for your superior customer service skills and are able to create a relationship of trust beyond the immediate interaction.
  • Your superb team working skills enable you to contribute positively to a team environment.
  • You are known for your problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • You possess exceptional communication skills, including active listening.
  • You possess strong demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills.
  • You possess project management skills with the ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
  • You have a strong understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and culturally responsive practices.
  • You have proven skills in conflict resolution.
  • You adapt easily in a continually changing environment and positively influence others to adapt.
