Biomedical Engineering Technologist I

The primary purpose of this position is to provide biomedical engineering technology support activities for the Labrador Health Center. The incumbent would report directly to the Regional Biomedical Team Leader.
Qualifications:
" Graduation from a Biomedical Engineering Technology program from a recognized post-secondary institution;
" Specialized training in advanced biomedical equipment would be an asset;
" Experience/training in servicing Laboratory/Dialysis equipment necessary (or willingness to undergo training as indicated by employer);
" Registration in CMBES and AAETN would be an asset;
" Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
Duties: (Included but not limited to):
" Responsible for providing biomedical engineering technology support services work within LGH;
" Diagnoses, calibrates, repairs and performs maintenance on all medical equipment to ensure quality assurance standards are met
" Provides medical equipment technical support and instruction to medical, nursing and other professional staff.
" Utilizes biomedical equipment database system to maintain records of maintenance repair activities.
" Inspects and test new medical equipment considered for purchase.
" Orders repair parts and maintains inventory levels.
" Writes reports, policies, maintenance and calibration procedures and other documentation regarding equipment maintenance, calibration, performance and downtime.
" Will be required to travel if needed.
" Other related duties as required.
Salary:
" CG-31 of the NAPE-HS Salary Scales, $28.29 to $31.44 per hour plus the Applicable Labrador Allowance.

" Variable Shifts; Variable Hours.
