Job Summary
Clerical staff perform clerical and administrative work in support of site and department operations. The successful candidate may be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of client records, filing reports, filing and retrieval of client records, as well as administrative duties related to admissions and discharges. They provide relief for all clerical support staff and undertakes other related clerical duties on the direction of the on-site Manager. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Qualifications:

" Graduation from high school supplemented by the successful completion of a one or two-year Office Administration diploma; approved by Labrador Grenfell Zone
" Completion of an approved medical terminology course or willingness to complete within timeframe designated by the employer
" Demonstrated experience and ability in word processing and other Microsoft software (including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Email);
" Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
" Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and good judgment as well as the ability to work with the general public and clients with tact and diplomacy.
" A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

" Answers the telephone, files, prepares/sends/receives mail, photocopies, and sends/receives faxes;
" Monitors email and keeps up to date with Public Health, Primary Care, and Ambulatory/Home Care clerical work flow;
" Manages the schedules of health care professionals working in Public Health, Primary Care, and Ambulatory/Home Care (including receiving referrals and booking/scheduling appointments by corresponding with clients);
" Utilizes the electronic medical record, Meditech, CRMS, and any other applicable software to assist in client documentation;
" Greets clients and manages the waiting area;
" Obtains/orders supplies through Materials Management;
" May be required to work alone;
" Other related duties as required;

Salary:

" NAPE HS Salary Scales dependent on position and location, plus applicable Labrador Allowance.
