Job Description

Clerk II - Home Based Dialysis (HBD)/Pre-Renal Insufficiency (PRI) Clinic
Permanent Part Time
Location: Happy Valley - Goose Bay
PCN: 56085DIF

The primary purpose of this position is to provide Ward Clerk duties at the Labrador Health Centre PRI/HBD program. This position is responsible for clerical, reception, communication support, and management of information flow in accordance with the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications:
" Graduation from High School or equivalent;
" Completion of a recognized two-year Office Administration program;
" Completion of an approved medical terminology course;
" Ability to perform a variety of responsibilities with initiative and judgment;
" Ability to work independently;
" Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communications;
" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties: (Included but not limited to)
" Maintains client's Kardex with status of consults, tests, and procedures;
" Responds to requests from clients and families and directs them to the appropriate person;
" Maintains the client's chart by replenishing as required and closure of charts upon discharge;
" Booking follow-up appointments;
" Answers the telephone and direct calls;
" Checks, orders, and restocks unit supplies;
" Completes inventory of various HBD sites and replenishes stock as needed;
" Place pharmacy orders for HBD;
" Ship and track supplies to various clinics as needed;
" Transfers specimens to laboratory;
" Pulls health records for clinic and returns chart to health records;
" Performs other related duties.

Salary:

" CG - 23 of the Nape-HS Salary Scales, $21.63 - $23.77 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.

Hours of Work:

" 37.5 hours Bi-weekly; variable shifts.
