Job Title: Internist - Locum

Functional Discipline: Medical Resources

Location: Gander, Newfoundland

Job Type: This posting is for a locum position that is to be filled on an as need basis over the next 2 years. The durations of work will be for varying lengths of time (range from 1 week to 2+months). The hours will be full-time.

License: Full or Provisional License

Job Description: The successful physician will be expected to diagnose and treat a broad and comprehensive spectrum of adult illnesses. The physician is required to provide a full scope of internal medicine services including, but are not limited to, inpatient consultation, emergency and critical care, on-call services, and outpatient clinics (inclusive of the option to participate in diabetes clinics and exercise stress testing). Individuals with an additional subspecialty (such as Gastroenterology or Respirology) are encouraged to apply and to discuss outpatient services. The coverage of on-call commitments, including weekends and holidays, are shared appropriately amongst all Internists. The successful physician must work in a team-based, client-focused environment, and partner with all team members to improve employee and patient safety by integrating safe work practices, identifying risk, and implementing policies.

Qualifcations:
* Eligible for registration and licensure as an Internist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador
* Satisfy the credentialing requirements of Central Health's Discipline of Internal Medicine
* Work Experience is an asset
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
* A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority

Education: Doctor of Medicine
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours of work: 75 hours bi-weekly plus on call obligations
Rumuneration: $1335 per day for 56 days, then 1258.75 per day or Fee-for-Service (as per the Memorandum of Agreement and Department of Health MCP Billing)
