Job Description

Regional Psychiatrist
Permanent Full Time; Salaried
Location: Regional based in Happy Valley - Goose Bay

We are currently seeking the services of a permanent, salaried Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team consisting of Family physicians, Mental Health Counselors, and other allied health professionals at the Labrador Health Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL.

Qualifications:

" Applicants must be eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador; the criteria for licensure are outlined on the CPSNL website (www.cpsnl.ca).
" Applicants must satisfy credentialing requirements for Labrador-Grenfell Health.
" Earned Medical Degree.
" Work experience is an asset.
" A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance.
" A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

" Psychiatric evaluation, treatment planning and medication management services.
" Provision of Consulting Services for the Labrador-Grenfell Health region.
" Ambulatory care clinics in our three main facilities - Labrador Health Centre, Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital and Labrador West Health Centre. These services will be provided by Tele-medicine link and in person visiting clinics.
" This position will help to support mental health services throughout the Labrador Grenfell Health.
" Coverage of on call commitments for Psychiatry.
" The successful candidate will work as a part of a Team of physicians and other staff to provide the required services identified above.
" The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Salary:

" $220, 147 - $262, 714 (Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador).
