Clinical Manager, Regional Renal Program
Permanent Full Time
Location: Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL

This position reports to the Regional Director of Rehabilitation, Intervention Services and Community Supports and is responsible for the management of regional dialysis services throughout the Labrador-Grenfell Region including three in-center facilities, the pre-renal program and home-based dialysis services. The successful incumbent will be expected to work both independently and in collaboration with others to provide high quality nursing services that are based on best practice. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LGH MoNCP. The successful applicant must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements.

Qualifications:
" Graduation from an approved School of Nursing; Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
" Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
" A minimum of two (2) years hemodialysis experience or willing to complete the six-week hemodialysis orientation.
" Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
" Proficient in the use of basic computer programs including Meditech and Microsoft Office.
" Current CPR certification.
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
" Any combination of education and nursing experience may be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Including but not limited to):
" Manages the Pre-Renal Program (PRI) and Home-Based Therapy (HBT) programs.
" Manages three in-center dialysis units at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, Labrador Health Centre and the Labrador West Health Centre.
" Data collection and interpretation as it relates to the Pre-Renal Clinic, the Home Hemodialysis Program in in-center dialysis units.
" Works closely with nephrologists, multidisciplinary renal team, patients and families to provide high quality care within Best Practice Guidelines.
" Monitors quality indicators to ensure treatment adequacy and patient safety is maintained for all primary patients within PRI, HBT and in-center programs.
" Communicates and collaborates with home dialysis vendor.
" Participates in research activities as related to pre-renal and home hemodialysis clients.
" Travel will be required.
" Other related duties as required.

Salary:
" HL-22 of the Hay Management Pay Scale.

Hours of Work:
" 75 hours bi-weekly; variable shifts, on-call may be required.
