Gift Shop Volunteer St. Clare's (Monday - Friday/days)

Program/Department Details
This assignment functions at the St. Clare's Gift Shop and offers a variety of products for purchase to clients, staff and visitors to Eastern Health.

Assignment Summary
Volunteers in the St. Clare's Gift Shop provide products for sale to clients, staff and visitors who wish to avail of this service. Proceeds from the Gift Shop support the purchase of comfort items, new equipment and other items as identified by Eastern Health.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this assignment include:

"Sign in at the location designated by the Coordinator, Volunteer Resources.
" Obtain Gift Shop key from the Switchboard or other designated area.
" Count cash register float to confirm it is balanced.
" Serve customers with respect and pleasant attitude.
" Stock and tidy shelves.
" Be observant to customers and provide extra assistance when required.
" Balance and record sales in sales envelope at the end of the shift.
" Ensure that sales envelope is placed in secure designated location.

" Interest in gaining/applying experience in healthcare or customer service

Time Commitment: One day per week for three (3) hours or as scheduled by the Coordinator, Volunteer Resources.

Orientation: An orientation to Eastern Health will be provided by the Coordinator, Volunteer Resources or designate. An orientation to the Gift Shop and this assignment will be provided by a volunteer with experience in this area. All volunteers are required to attend these orientations prior to beginning their volunteer assignment.
