All Opportunities - Dr. L. A. Miller Centre

Located at 100 Forest Road in St. John's, the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre is the leading public rehabilitation centre for Newfoundland and Labrador. There a multidisciplinary team works to assist those disabled by injury or illness realize and then maintain their full recovery potential. In addition to physicians and nurses, the teams are made up of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, prosthetists, dietitians, speech language pathologists, social workers and therapeutic recreation specialists.

There are varied and diverse volunteer opportunities at the Miller Centre. Friendly visitor volunteers provide companionship, reading and conversation. Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy volunteers work with patients and staff during classes and patient activities. Therapeutic Recreation volunteers assist with leisure and recreational activities such as bingo, movie nights and seasonal events. And there is always a place for music volunteers at the Miller Centre.

With the exception of Friendly Visiting and Music volunteers, these are daytime, weekday volunteer opportunities.

The minimum age for volunteering at the Miller Centre is 16 years old.
