Job Description:

Apex is currently accepting resumes for a Machine Operator within its Steel Door Manufacturing Group. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the primary role of this full-time position will be to set up and operate a CNC punch, press brake, and shear, as well as other duties relating to production schedules. Some weekend and/or overtime work may be required and training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC Punch/CNC Press within the cutting and bending center.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Gathering, sheering, and tagging required materials.
• Loading material(s) to bend into a CNC punch and CNC press.
• Operate hand tools and use precision measuring devices.
• Read and interpret production documentation - including blueprints.
• Maintain production schedules, as well as a safe and clean work environment.
• Understand and effectively carry out oral or written instruction.
• Recognize and communicate areas to improve to the lead-hand(s).
• Other duties as assigned to meet operational requirements.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered and training will be provided.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring devices.
• Ability to work both individually or within a team environment with a positive attitude.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to stick to tasks that may be repetitive in nature.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and computer literacy.
• Ability to follow verbal or written instructions and work under little or no supervision.
