East Cumberland Lodge is a 74 bed Level I & Level II Nursing Home overlooking the beautiful Pugwash harbour, licensed by the Nova Scotia Department of Health. It is a registered Canadian charity operated by the Cumberland Senior Care Corporation and managed by a Board of Management, Administrator, and Department Directors.

Both the Environmental Worker and Laundry Worker are responsible to the Director of Environmental Services for the maintaining of a clean, sanitary environment for the residents, staff, and visitors.

This position is physically demanding, and the individual must be able to lift and bend as necessary. Duties include working with cleaning products/ chemical products.

  • General knowledge of housekeeping duties and must be physically able to perform all aspects of this position in the Environmental Department.
  • Primary 1 & 2 COVID 19 Vaccinations.
  • Provision of a valid and current Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Must be willing to assist residents with daily activities.
  • Ability to perform job requirements as in job description. *Job description available upon request.
  • Must have Grade 10. N.S. Provincial Alzheimer Courses preferred.

We have acquired a license for a virtual reality system tailored specifically for the needs of the elderly with an array of programs, activities and content to engage our clients in experiences and activities that they could not access or enjoy otherwise.
