The incumbent will work with the Supply Chain and Logistics (SCL) Supervisor and will be responsible for daily commute around southern Ontario and further. Deliveries can be sometimes as far as Windsor or Ottawa, on occassions could require overnight travel. Driving is the main component of this role.
In this role, you will:
  • Support the SCL team in setting up of vaccination clinics
  • Drive on a daily basis around southern Ontario and futher for deliveries. Sometimes, deliveries can be as far as Windsor or Ottawa and might require overnight travel (2-3 times a month)
  • You will drive big trucks, moving truck size high top vans / Sprinter vans on a daily basis
  • Ensure proper care and transport of vaccine, other supplies and equipments to and from clinic. Assist in setting up of clinics.
  • Ensure adequate stock is available when opening site, maintain appropriate level of stock and complete a close of operation inventory and ensure processes are followed.
  • Coordinate with logistics service providers to track, receive, store and ship goods making note of any discrepancies or damage.
  • Monitor safety considerations for vehicles, inspections, record maintenance.
  • Assist Logistics Supervisor in miscellaneous tasks like sourcing suppliers, creating new agreements and updating the contact information in the suppliers tracking sheet.
  • Participate in team meetings.

What we are looking for:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field and/or a minimum of one year of work experience in logistics, procurement and/or supply chain management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires a valid Drivers License and a satisfactory Drivers Abstract.
  • Ability to deliver services in English.
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data entry skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry goods weighing up to 23 kg (50lbs) or assist in carrying goods weighing up to 36 kg (80lbs).
  • Ability to climb stairs, as well as transition frequently in and out of a vehicle.

Working conditions:
  • The incumbent may need to stand for several hours and respond during non-traditional hours (i.e. late night or weekends).
  • Personal protective equipment will be supplied, as required.
  • Ability to be on-call when scheduled, as required.
  • Potential for responding in difficult, unstable and uncomfortable conditions (noise, smoke, humidity, vulnerable clients). These stressful rapidly changing environments with limited information to make decisions have the potential to affect the physical and psychological state of the responders on site.
