The Senior Database Tester will perform Data Migration activities including mapping Redesign Database to Legacy Database; validate data quality and Data validation. They will also perform testing on ETL's and other data transforms. Prepared the functional test cases using test design techniques data validation concepts Equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis.
We are growing in Vancouver, BC and Calgary, AB and are currently looking for experienced Senior Database Testers to help us do that! Preference will be given to those who are already based in Vancouver and/or in Calgary. Remote applicants must be following PST and/or MST time zone.
- Create a Data Quality Assurance Plan that identifies the test strategy and test cases for ensuring data quality across multiple systems. To complete the test executions, the plan will need to identify automated processes.
- Responsible for identifying data quality flaws, the sources of those flaws, potential mitigations, and the constraints associated with those mitigations.
- Identify and report metrics for monitoring data quality. Create automated data quality metrics monitors and reports.
- Perform System testing, Integration testing, Functional testing, Regression testing and Smoke Tests.
- Verify the quality of data pipeline development before deploying it to production environments.
- Write SQL scripts to extract the data and apply transformations to perform backend testing on datasets. Bulk comparison of data from source and target to identify differences and assure quality.
- Work/communicate directly with project stakeholders including Business and external Vendors and discuss defects, priority of testing activities
- Computer Science degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst including experience in Test case/Test data design, Test execution, Test reporting
- 3+ years of experience validating data via ETL, SQL and automation tools
- Experience in ETL testing, expertise on writing queries in DB2, MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle DB and Azure Databricks
- Functional testing experience mainly on MS SQL, , and API based systems
