PAL Aerospace is partnered with SkyAlyne who has been named by Canada as the preferred bidder for the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Program, which is our next generation pilot and aircrew training program for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The scope of the FAcT Program includes all training and in-service support requirements needed to prepare Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers (ACSO), and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators (AES Op) to meet the future aerospace requirements of the RCAF. In collaboration with the Government of Canada, SkyAlyne and several of its major Canadian subcontractors will provide live-flying, simulator and classroom-based training, facilities construction and management, information management and information technology support, site support services, aircraft maintenance and much more.

This Program will be a 20+ year contract and will be managed from the National Capital Region (Ottawa), with one of its main operational locations in Winnipeg, MB.

PAL Aerospace is searching for an experienced Senior Pilot, Training Officer to join our team in Winnipeg, MB. As part of this contract, PAL Aerospace will provide flight operations on three (3) missionized DHC Dash 8-400 (P4) at 402 Squadron in support of the RCAF ACSO and AES Op training operations. This is a unique opportunity where you, as a civilian, can be part of the RCAF community!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsive to the CO 402 Squadron through the MSAT Chief Pilot and the Contractor, manage and supervise the Line MSAT pilots.
  • Responsible to manage all MSAT pilot training, currency, proficiency and evaluation requirements, ensuring that all MSAT pilot qualifications are met, current and maintained.
  • This person will also assist with the management of the daily activities and resources that will support flightline operations, dispatching, and the Airworthiness requirements of the FAcT flying program and MSATs.
  • Fly as a qualified MSAT pilot to support ACSO, AES OP and FIC training, including all associated activities to support the instructional mission and execute the duties of Aircraft Commander for instructional missions and pilot currency flights.
  • Conduct the pilot category proficiency and upgrade checks on the MSAT pilots, as required.
  • Fill the position of a pilot subject matter expert to support the FAcT ramp up plan and transition-in activities up to Ready for Training (RFT) and Training Steady State (TSS) such as schoolhouse stand-up activities, Operational Readiness Trials (ORTs) and Field Trials (FTs), supporting courseware development, Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) and customer acceptance activities, as well as participating in Training Development Team (TDT) working group, as required.
  • Support certification of the Flight Dispatch Personnel and assist with Squadron Operations accreditation requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative, functional and technical direction to the Flight Dispatch and Load Planning organizations on behalf of the Chief Pilot.
  • Participate in Wing, Squadron and Flight-mandated briefings, instructor development briefings, Fatigue Risk Management System training and participate in Progress Review Boards and Instructor Reviews, as required.
  • Travel required.

Experience:

  • Military flying experience within the last 10 years with an acceptable PLAR.
  • Detailed knowledge, gained by formal training or work experience of DND Squadron Operations.
  • Minimum two (2) years of related supervisory experience withing a flying unit whose flight operations are similar in size and scope.
  • Has a minimum of two (2) years of experience in leading and supporting training programs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of RCAF rear crew training system, organizations/hierarchy and reporting mechanisms.
  • Leading people and teams / supporting operations.

Medical Category:

  • Must meet and maintain the following medical requirements:
    • Maintain an unrestricted TC Category I Medical;
    • Before starting the FIC Phase 2 (Conversion) and every two years thereafter, meet RCAF pilot standards on the following medical examinations:
    • HbA1C, CBC, Lipids, Triglycerides;
    • Ophthalmological Exam using DND form 2776;
    • Audiogram, to include speech discrimination testing if below DND H2 hearing standard; and
    • Other tests as required by the RCAF Flight Surgeon.

Qualifications:

  • If English is not the person's primary language, he/she must pass the TOEFL with "advanced" results in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
  • RCAF, or equivalent, previously held minimum A Cat QFI experience.
  • Hold an Aircraft Captain Qualification.

Desired Experience/Qualification/Training:

  • Military or professional test flying experience within the last 10 years.
  • Completion of RCAF Aerospace Warfare Center (RAWC) Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) Course.
  • Experience with RCAF OT&E activities.
  • Experience on the DHC Dash 8 400 is preferred.
  • Completion of RCAF Instrument Check Pilot Course is preferred.
  • CAF Joint Command and Staff Programme (JCSP), or equivalent, qualification.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office.
  • Bilingual or Second Language profile of BBB.
  • Development of Squadron Operational procedures.
  • Foster partnership and business relations with key stakeholders.
  • RCAF, or equivalent, flying experience in a training, standards and evaluation experience.
  • Military or professional test flying experience within the last 10 years.

Security Responsibilities:

Incumbent must be eligible for Government Personnel Security Clearance.

Responsabilités
  • Develop, implement and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of the Company's portfolio of businesses;
  • Lead scenario-modeling efforts for the development and growth of the business portfolio;
  • Participate as a key thought leader of the finance team, influencing decision making, and identifying finance priorities;
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators related to cash flow management;
  • Develop and analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes;
  • Prepare presentations in support of management team meetings, senior leadership meetings as well as third party stakeholder meetings, as required;
  • Support the strategic business planning process;
  • Partner with accounting, treasury, tax as appropriate;
  • Analyze and monitor corporate financial governance including developing and reviewing financial controls and their effectiveness;
  • Take ownership of other special projects as required;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge is required;
  • 3-5 years in a similar accounting role is preferred;
  • CPA designation would be considered a strong asset;
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly evolving work environment;
  • Must be eager and motived to contribute to the combined success of the Company.
