AirPro SAR Services is currently looking for a Deputy Training Centre Support System Manager (TSSM) to join the team in Comox, British Columbia, Canada.

AirPro is a joint venture between Airbus Defence and Space and PAL Aerospace, fully dedicated to the successful operation of Canada's Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Aircraft Replacement (FWSAR) programme. AirPro provides day to-day management of all ISS activities like engineering, logistics, maintenance, training, IT systems, infrastructure and materiel support throughout the product life cycle.

The Deputy TSSM is integral to RCAF's FWSAR program, particularly focusing on C-295 aircraft training. Duties encompass simulator management, courseware development, facility maintenance, staffing, and overseeing training coordination throughout the program's lifecycle.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to set-up the Training System in Comox up to the start of the Conversion Training phase.
  • Contribute to fulfil offset requirements (100% of the Contract value) for training-related activities.
  • Conduct progress review meetings with the Training Program team.
  • Conduct progress review meetings with CAE.
  • Provide planning status, costs status and risk picture.
  • Keep record of configuration changes of all FWSAR Training Devices.
  • Monitor and schedule Service bulletin implementation for all FWSAR Training Devices.
  • Conduct update meeting to costumer related to Training Devices status.
  • Propose to TSSM engineering changes to update the FWSAR Training suite.
  • Oversee FWSAR load evals (development and implementation)
  • Support the Training Delivery effort, working close to the Training Centre Operations Manager.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for candidates with the following experience and skillset:

  • Completion of a diploma or an undergraduate in a related field is required.
  • 5+ years experience in a role supporting training centre management.
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace environment is preferred.
  • Familiar with learning processes employed in professional training centres.
  • Experience with Service Bulleting implementation is preferred.
  • Experience with Training Devices management and operation is preferred.
  • Firm understanding/familiarity of the military environment.
  • Able to work autonomously under pressure in a constant changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to flex working schedule to support FWSAR program demands across different time zones from Europe to BC.
  • Understanding of Search and Rescue is an asset.
  • Knowledge in the C295 is an asset.
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or French considered an asset.

  • Conducting ground school, synthetic flight training device and flight training of all flight crew in accordance with approved training program
  • Supervision of the standards and recommending amendments to their respective aircraft operating manuals and standard operating procedures

Qualifications

  • 750 hours low level
  • 1000 hours Multi Engine
  • 1000 hours PIC
  • Valid ATR License
  • Valid ATPL License
  • Instrument Rating
  • Multi-Engine Rating
  • Must be a Captain with experience Dash 8 100/300 and King Air
  • Training background with an aptitude for teaching would be an asset
  • Ability to work in a cohesive team environment
  • Excellent organization skills, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
