We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment and be interested in contributing to the growth of Kraken.

Responsabilités

• Perform daily general accounting functions

• Incoming and outgoing payment transactions (cheques, wires, ACH)

• Assist in completion of month end, quarter end, and year end activity for local and international subsidiaries including accruing AP/AR invoices, determine required month-end adjustments, and prepare intercompany billings

• General ledger account reconciliations, supporting schedules and variance analysis

• Assist with corporate cash flow analysis and forecasting

• Interact with clients, vendors, and employees to execute requests within the accounting area. This may include travel to other Kraken offices within Canada and Germany.

• Review employee expense claims for accuracy and compliance to company policy

• Assist in the year-end audit and tax filings with the team and the auditors

• Prepare corporate remittances as required, in particular HST

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in accounting and finance, preferably in an international publicly traded company and in a manufacturing business

• Bachelor of commerce, finance, business or equivalent

• Understanding of GAAP and IFRS in relation to accounting and inventory

• Experience and proficiency with Excel and ideally cloud accounting software for manufacturing companies

• Professional accountant designation or working towards designation is desirable

• A strong desire to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
