BioVectra Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BioVectra Inc. has an opening for a Program Manager, Research and Development. This is an 18-month term position located in Charlottetown, PEI.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reporting program strategy and status to the executive leadership team and effectively represents the interests of development and commercial partners.
  • Contributing technical and regulatory expertise related to R&D and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and commercial development agreements.
  • Leading and coordinating the technical evaluation and R&D related costing for pipeline development projects; act as the primary contact for business development information related to R&D.
  • Ensuring successful, on-time delivery of milestones while forecasting and minimizing risks.
  • Assisting in leading project teams, comprising representatives from relevant functions.
  • Developing project tasks, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements.
  • Creating, maintaining, and organizing necessary documentation and records. Responsible for the quality of project deliverables and documentation, and identifying, documents and communicating project risks and contingency plans.
  • Overseeing and preparing project team budget including resources and cost collaborating with Finance and other cross-functional departments.
  • Tracking and communicating project status, plans, issues, timelines, action plans and budgets.
  • Communicating, documenting and archiving R&D team activities and decisions.
  • Facilitating project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, ensures alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exercising scope and change management with consideration for the customer, team and company needs.
  • Promoting a proactive, ownership thinking, professional culture within the R&D department, contributing to the department's success.
  • Contributing material and timely input to the development and continuous improvement of the Program Management office processes related to SOPs and supporting materials.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

  • Bachelor in Science, Engineering or other technical field. Master of Business Administration or Project Management certification (PMP) preferred, with a strong understanding of product life cycle management and process development.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate, coach/mentor other cross-functional team members.
