Norwich Gas and Convenience, a division of Granger Holdings, is a Shell retail gas and convenience retail store in Norwich, Ontario. Opened in 2020 the store has served customers in the Norwich area for 3 years.

Opportunity

We are recruiting a permanent part-time, customer focused, Gas Station Sales Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sale of fuel and other automotive products, as well as all in-store merchandise, including tobacco products, lottery tickets and sundries and will be responsible for processing cash, credit and debit card transactions. Additional responsibilities will include:

• Greeting customers who enter the establishment
• Cleaning and performing maintenance of the property both indoors and outdoors
• Ensuring that restricted products (e.g. tobacco, lottery tickets) are sold only to

customers that are of the required age by requesting appropriate identification

• Counting money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
• Compiling and maintain non-monetary reports and records
• Keeping periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions
• Stocking shelves and coolers
• Changing fuel prices on signage

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous customer service and/or retail experience
• Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
• Positive personality and demeanor
• Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and objection handling skills
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Strong communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Maintain accuracy and composure while working quickly to meet a high customer volume
• Self-motivated
