Job Title: SPC Data AnalystJob ID: PL9191076Location: North Vancouver, BCOverview:The Data Analysts work in a team that oversee the rationalization of material and equipment by analyzing the part catalog by commodities. Commercial off the shelve and fabricated parts are presented to a cross functional team for standardization and made applicable for future vessels. The candidate is responsible to manage commodities and create reports to make sure Engineering, Production and Procurement adheres to the criteria selected during the workshops. What you will be doing:
  • Operate database management systems (ARAS) to analyze data;
  • Analyze the part catalog in ARAS and raise concerns or opportunities to the Standard Part Committee on a regular basis;
  • Ensure applicable parts are being consumed in the 3D model by design and engineering;
  • Set up and facilitate workshops with cross-functional teams as new parts are requested outside the applicability list;
  • Rationalize the Make to Buy process;
  • Create reports and standardization criteria documents for the stakeholders to adhere to and sign off;
  • Understand Engineering Design Standards to review part's applicability;
  • Performs configuration and data integrity audits; &
  • Process high volumes of key data on a regular basis.
What you must have:
  • Technical post-secondary education at either a college or university or experience in a technical environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and able to work in team settings
  • A self-starter with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong English communication, interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills required for communicating to all levels within the organization
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and reasoning skills.
  • Must have work experience in managing cross-functional teams and present data to help stakeholders make better decisions
  • Must have strong quantitative and analytical skills with experience in working with and manipulating large amounts of technical data, such as drawings, illustrations, and data sheets
  • Junior engineers or experience in engineering considered an asset
