The Role

 As a Systems Administrator, you are supporting multiple business units developing software products for public safety. You have 5 years of experience, supporting M365 and maintaining corporate networks, VoIP, desktop computing, VMware, cloud applications and on-premises servers and storage arrays.

You are capable of understanding and implementing corporate sized projects with minimal supervision as well as multitasking and supporting desktop questions and issues. You are a highly motivated individual with analytical business skills and you can write a test plan.

You have job related experience with firewalls, ideally next-gen firewalls, and modular stackable switches, ideally Cisco.

You will be counted upon to answer a wide variety of questions from across the business units. You are expected to plan your work, take notes to aid your multitasking, follow change management policies, and document the environments. Occasionally you will provide technical support for infrastructure-related issues or questions with our police customers and their IT staff.

This position is full-time in the Ottawa office.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze, implement, and document systems which will improve the corporate IT environment.
  • Install, support and test Windows laptops and MacBooks.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot desktop and infrastructure questions and issues.
  • Maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Follow CJIS, ISO and customer protocols to maintain security.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, NGFW, Azure and PowerShell
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
  • Cisco certifications, Microsoft certifications or similar training
  • Ability to work in the office Monday through Friday with flexibility to work from home if need be.

The computing environment includes.

  • Intel servers and fiber channel storage
  • Cisco, Palo Alto, and Meraki networking, and multiple VPNs
  • VMware - vSphere, Fusion, Workstation and RedHat Linux
  • Active Directory, Multi-Factor Authentication, DNS, and DHCP Services
