Cloudhead Games is a fully remote company working Pacific Time Zone hours.
As a Senior Engineer at Cloudhead Games, you will coordinate with the team in designing, prototyping and implementing gameplay features. Thanks to your experience with large code bases and data optimization, you are a go-to person for advice and a point of contact for problem-solving complex issues within production. You will help lead the design on an exciting game, mentoring and growing an engineering team and fostering inclusive programming culture throughout the company.
What you would do:
- Collaborate and work closely with Engineering, Art, Design, QA and Production to design, prototype and polish gameplay features and supporting systems
- Create new and maintain existing tools for Designers, Artists and QA to add features and improve their workflow
- Analyze and mitigate risk in the game production schedule
- Anticipate complex problems and propose adaptive solutions, considering the entire production pipeline
- Optimize and debug both code and content across the game as needed
- Keep up-to-date on learning new technologies, engines, rendering techniques and programming languages
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years of experience as a senior with mentoring or leading colleagues
- Experience shipping a title from prototype stage on Console, PC or Mobile
- Experience with Unity, C# and version control
- Experience reviewing, optimizing and debugging code
- Inclusive approach to programming and mentorship
- Great communication and interpersonal skills; you're able to clearly explain your thought process both written and verbally
- Ability to organize and motivate a team and foster strong collaboration between disciplines
- Ability to write clean, simple, well-documented code from design requirements
- A solid understanding of the market and passion for video games
- Ability to work in a remote work environment

Cloudhead Games is committed to pay that feels fair, and that fits in with our overall compensation philosophy focused on work life balance. We welcome candidates to have conversations with our recruitment team regarding their salary expectations and how they align with our established ranges. As we better understand your skillset, it may be determined that your experience aligns more with a higher or lower level of seniority. We will always try to be proactive in communication with applicants about where they might fall in a seniority band.
The salary range for this position is CAD $100k-$130k.
