Position overview

We are looking for a in-house Structural Steel Drafter's who's role will be to effectively produce accurate and complete detail drawings for the production and installation of structural and miscellaneous steel using Tekla Structures. The detailer completes drawings of parts, or entire projects, within the estimated time as set out together with the drafting manager and timeline given by the project.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Prepare detailed drawings of structural designs using computer-aided design software
• Create single part, assembly, and erection drawings with all relevant information
• Review drawings to be sent out to internal/external customer
• Ensuring that completed drawings have been reviewed and comply with companies' fabrication and erection needs
• Double check steel member information by referencing back to contract drawings
• Collaborate with drafting manager, project- and site team to fulfill all drawing requirements
  

To qualify for this position

• 2+ years of experience with Tekla Structures or comparable program
• Excellent attention to detail
• Prior professional experience using ‘Tekla 3D' is considered an asset
• Advanced ability to read and interpret design drawings
• Experience in the structural steel industry is an asset
• Able to work both individually and as part of a team
• Both excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have strong computer and technical skills
• Be positive and willing to learn
