Job Title: General Manager - Business Development Job ID: TW6652074Location: Calgary/Edmonton, ABOverview:Our client is in need a General Manager - Business Development to join their leadership team based in either Calgary or Edmonton. The General Manager - Business Development is to perform the duties and responsibilities provided below in accordance to standard operating procedures and performance objectives, while adhering to the applicable health and safety regulations, and professional codes of conduct. What you will be doing:
  • Developing and building relationships with new and existing clients; including participating in meetings, lunches, as well as attending industry events and presentations;
  • Update and maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, through client requirements, target project scopes and internal capabilities;
  • Identifying potential business opportunities through the review of all appropriate business channels;
  • Working effectively with the Business Development Group through innovative solutions and defining future opportunities;
  • Coordinate the design and development of marketing materials through the designated administrator;
  • Deliver mentorship, training, and develop Junior BD Staff;
  • Prepare and submit sales activity reports and sales forecasts to the Business Development Group;
  • Any other duties assigned that may be relevant to this position.
What you must have:
  • Degree (or Diploma) in Business or related discipline and 3 or more years of direct industry experience;
  • The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills and is very detail oriented and organized with the proven ability to maintain positive relationships with clients;
  • Proven competency in delivering an accurate and detailed yearly plan within, or under the budget;
  • Experience in managing a Customer Relation Management (CRM) database;
  • Proven competency in ensuring a seamless transition of client responsibility to appropriate internal personnel;
  • Experience in developing and coordinating marketing and client events;
  • Ability to mentor and supervise junior personnel.
