About the role

We're looking for someone passionate about leading cloud operations and deployment automation for the building and installing of complex software systems to join and the lead the direction of our Site Reliability Engineering team. In our dynamic and innovative team, you will play a crucial role in the designing and creating DevOps pipelines and advanced deployment automation. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems and services across multiple regions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, operations, and QA teams. Your expertise in CICD will contribute to the stability and predictability of our system builds and installs for both development and production environments.

What you'll do

  • Lead a multidisciplinary DevOps-focused team, build a close relationship with other developers and production support teams
  • Architect and help implement reliable and scalable systems, tools, and processes to ensure high availability, performance, and fault tolerance of our infrastructure and applications.
  • Lead CI/CD pipeline creation to deploy all layers of the architecture to production in a robust, easy-to-use and automated way
  • Lead the creation of production run books and operational practices to ensure quick resolution to outages and disruptions to customer services.
  • Advocate the developer's experience supporting a team of software and data engineers challenged with big data, big scale, and a complex product architecture transformation
  • Create and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, system failures, and potential issues. Implement appropriate remediation actions to minimize downtime and impact on users.

What you'll bring

  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Operationally minded in production releases, support, and maintenance.
  • Experience or has career goals to manage a team of 4-5 DevOps and Cloud engineers
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of DevOps tools like Git, Makefile, Jenkins, Github, Helm charts, JFrog Artifactory, and similar technologies.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes, micro services architecture, and design patterns for Enterprise SAAS class scale & success.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, ELK stack).
  • Deep understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems, networking protocols, and web technologies.
  • Good networking knowledge including VPCs, Subnets, DNS, routers and firewalls
  • Work with an Agile team following Kanban practices with a strong Jira discipline.
  • A plus for expertise in big data challenges like storage, access, scale, sharing, and cost control
  • Some expectation of rotating on-call hours for 247 support
