Job Summary
Supervise and arrange field operations providing quality and timely service for Clintar Commercial Outdoor customers. This includes training and supervision of all field staff, contributing to the planning and execution of all work requirements, providing quality control through site visits, and working to maximize the potential of the staff and equipment resources available
Responsibilities
  • Directly supervises crew leaders and crew members. Interview, hire and train all maintenance and winter staff. Ensure equipment and materials are assigned to crews.
  • Plan and conduct ongoing training for field service staff in customer relations skills; horticulture and technical skills; and health & safety policies and procedures. Ensure a high degree of diplomacy when dealing directly with customers.
  • Monitor and maintain facility and yard organization.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare daily work schedules, and expedite workflow.
  • Ensure appropriate scheduling and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. If mechanic not available, complete minor repairs to equipment and tools.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of crew leaders and crew members timesheets. Using Aspire for reports and daily notes.
  • Evaluate regularly, Clintars service to customers and develop procedures to eliminate customer complaints. Monitor field staff morale and work to promote a total team effort.
  • Evaluate performance, make wage recommendations, and administer disciplinary action consistent with HR policies and procedures.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; and making recommendations to operations manager.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • College diploma in horticulture or equivalent is preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of hardscape projects, interlock and stone installation, equipment operation, and grading
  • Knowledge in snow removal, salt application
  • Skilled in leadership, problem-solving, multitasking, independent decision-making, and reporting job site activities, including material, hours, and incidents
  • Estimation, design skills, and health & safety experience are assets
  • Able to lift or move over 25 pounds
  • Passion for outdoor work is essential, including in adverse weather conditions
