About the Role:
We are seeking a BIM Technician to join our Vancouver team. Responsibilities include modeling (in Revit) electrical systems for commercial and institutional projects. The qualified candidate should have a good understanding of electrical engineering principles and terminology for building construction (power, lighting, fire alarm, and communications). Working conditions are primarily in-office from 8:00am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Other responsibilities include:
- Work under the direction of the BIM Manager, Electrical Designers and Project Managers to develop construction document packages in Revit,
- Implement and maintain BIM and CAD standards,
- Provide support for plotting and sending of electronic file submission,
- Create, document and communicate best practices for, Revit, BIM and AutoCAD applications,
- Ensure proper documentation of all work, products, and relevant activities,
- Other duties assigned as necessary.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Certificate, diploma in drafting, modeling or a related field,
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience using Revit 2018 or a later version in a professional workplace
- Experience in the construction industry required with preference to be given to those with experience in electrical projects associated with buildings,
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and various other construction documentation,
- Strong, self-motivated work ethic with ability to be effective and timely with tasks,
- Organized and able to follow company standards and procedures, with a resourceful capacity for resolving challenges,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Must be able to work within a team environment,
- It is a fast-paced environment; candidate must be willing to meet quick deadlines and handle multiple projects.
